German Chamomile is best used for its ANTI-INFLAMMATORY (for muscle and/or joint pain), ANALGESIC (pain numbing), AND COOLING properties. It’s ideal in any acute pain situation where heat is present. Research also shows that it proves beneficial in reducing histamine-induced reactions (hay fever, eczema, asthma). SKIN HEALING and SKIN REGENERATION are also benefits of German Chamomile.

CHEMISTRY & SAFETY
CHEMISTRY: German Chamomile is rich in Sesquiterpenes (chamazulene and farnesene). Chamazulene and farnesene, specifically, are highly anti-inflammatory and are able to reduce histamine-induced reactions. a-bisabolol is a Sesquiterpenol (an alcohol) that is even more anti-inflammatory than chamazulene and farnesene and contributes to German Chamomiles antifungal and antimicrobial activity. Research is currently showing promise for its antifungal actions as convential drugs are being resisted (Rhind 2012).
SAFETY: For external use only. Keep out of reach of children. Always dilute essential oils before applying to the skin and keep away from mucous membranes. If the oil is past it’s “use by” date or stored improperly, it may cause irritation and lose therapeutic value.
