We offer two types of Ginger essential oil:
Ginger (CO2 extracted) - Best for digestive blends to be applied topically on the abdomen (for gas, bloating, diarrhea). This is due to the high Zingerone content (ketone molecule responsible for remedying diarrhea).
Our other Ginger (steam distilled) - would be Better for pain blends (warming to muscles, joints, arthritis, inflammation). High Sesquiterpene content is the reason for this. (chemical family researched to be pain relieving and anti-inflammatory).
Both of our Ginger essential oils are WARMING, stimulate CIRCULATION, and help reduce NAUSEA during pregnancy, travel, and chemotherapy. Both are beneficial for diarrhea and gas if applied to the abdomen and pain relief. They are also both anti-inflammatory for arthritis.
Latin Name: Zingiber officinale
Plant Origin: Indonesia
Botanical family: Zingerberaceae
Plant Part: Rhizomes, Organic
Processed: CO2 extracted
Chemical family: Sesquiterpenes, Ketones
Aroma: Warm, Spicy, and sharp
CHEMISTRY & SAFETY
CHEMISTRY: Ginger generally consists of over half Sesquiterpenes (zingiberene, alpha-curcumene, farnesene) which are larger molecules that don’t absorb into the skin as quickly as monoterpenes. Blending with a citrus oil (with d-limonene) will increase absorption of Ginger. This particular Ginger is high in Zingerone, a ketone responsible for relieving diarrhea.
SAFETY: FOR EXTERNAL USE ONLY. Keep out of reach of children. Always dilute essential oils before applying to the skin and keep away from mucous membranes. If the oil is past it’s “use by” date or stored improperly, it may cause irritation and lose therapeutic value.
Analgesic – numbs pain
Antiemetic - reduces nausea or vomiting
Anti-inflammatory – alleviates inflammation
Antiseptic – assists in fighting germs and infections
Antispasmodic – relieves muscular cramping and spasms
Carminative – may help prevent gas when applied topically on the belly
Diaphoretic – promotes perspiration, helping skin eliminate waste
Expectorant - removes excess mucus from respiratory system
HOW TO USE
Painful Gas? Add 5 drops GINGER CO2 and 3 drops SWEET ORANGE to 1 TBS of unscented lotion or Jojoba oil. Massage counter-clockwise onto the belly. This is a 3% dilution recommended for adults.
Nausea Blend: Place just one drop of ginger in a tissue and inhale as needed. For travel nausea, try blending ginger with peppermint.
